Vintage Stratton Lipstick Empress Compact
Vintage Stratton Empress powder compact.
This is a fabulous Stratton Empress shaped lipstick and powder compact with an enamelled lid featuring a lovely design of spray cream and pink roses. The back is brass / gold tone metal which has been engine turned to create a curled feather design. Inside there is a good sized clear mirror and on opening the powder compact, the lipstick holder which is attached to the base, automatically raises for you to remove.
The lipstick holder base is marked with Stratton No.1 and inside the original red lipstick shaped instruction card remains. When the mirrored lid is gentley pushed back, it releases the inner powder guard catch, which is a feature of the Stratton 'Compact in Hand' design. The 'Compact in Hand' logo is etched into the inner guard along with a horizontal striped pattern. Beneath the inner guard is the powder well containing the original mesh and powder puff.
Overall the powder compact is made from brass / gold tone metal which shines like new and the internal and external hinges are all in excellent working order. It comes with a dark brown pouch. This is a beautiful Empress shaped lipstick and powder compact in very good vinatge condition and very collectable.
