A colourful and unusual vintage compact by Le Rage. The large round case in a gold tone metal features a beautiful transfer design picturing medieval castles, knights, ladies, swans, snails, trees and woodland animals all in vibrant colours.

The gold tone base has a circular engine turned pattern. The compact is opened by just pushing up the front of the lid. I

nside there is a large clear mirror housed in the lid with the words MADE IN ENGLAND stamped near the hinge. The base holds loose powder only in the cream coated metal powder well, which looks unused. The base also holds the original cream mesh sifter and powder puff. The top side of the powder puff  is embossed in gold lettering with Le Rage logo with REDG. BRITISH MADE.

Overall the compact is in very good vintage condition and looks unused with both the hinge and catch in good working order.

There is some minor wear to the compact through handling over the years; on the top of powder puff there is a dark mark towards the bottom edge and there is some minor wear to the transfer on the lid which is very hard to see.
