This is a lovely pair of vintage Art Deco period sterling silver Morpho Butterfly wing earrings.

Each earring round features an enticing tropical scene of a silhouetted palm tree on the beach with an orange setting sun reflecting in the sea and birds flying low in the sky. The scene is reverse hand painted onto the back of the glass or lucite clear dome, which is then set on top of a real magnificant iridescent blue Morpho Butterfly wing that acts as the background colour.

The wing and hand painted dome are set into a round silver base with a screw back fitting marked with 'Sterling silver' on the back of the screw.

Good vintage condition.
