This fabulous chain and shell belt and bracelet set is a lovely example of Renoir design.

The belt is slightly more unusual as most of the Renoir belts have a more solid band whereas this belt appears to match the similar chain necklace and earing sets which can still be found today.

The heavy chain has a soft, yet rich copper patina and can be knotted loosely around the waist. The belt could also be worn as a heavey chain necklace if looped around the neck or tied with a loose knot.

The matching bracelet has a hook over and clip clasp with geometric sides that match beautifully with the chain link.

Although the belt is not signed, the matching bracelet is signed © RENOIR on the outside of the clasp. This modernist design would be a great wardrobe accessory for the vintage clothing enthusiast, or for anyone with an eye for uniqueness.
