Vintage Stratton Red Setter Compact
Vintage Stratton red setter powder compact.
This vintage Stratton compact is unused and still in its original box with black pouch and labels.
The circular powder compact itself has a smooth face with a transfer design of a Red Setter dog which is glazed over. The reverse side has a textured pattern of thin ever decreasing circles.
The inside of the powder compact is as new, with the base housing the self release powder section and holding the original sifter for loose powder, the pink powder puff and the mirror still has the instructions label all of which indicate it has never really been used.
The internal self-release lid has the patented 'Stratton in Hand' logo in the centre of the vertical band pattern indicating its age of late 1940s to 50s. The internal and external hinges are also all in excellent working order.
Overall the powder compact is made from gold tone metal which shines like new, with only a few very minor blemishes on the glazing and slight crazing to the transfer due to age on the lid, neither of which detract from the overall good condition of the compact.
